Many unique, rare, and previously unreleased recordings by one of
the world's most unique performers of popular music during the 20th century are
released exclusively on this CD: Leonid Utyosov.
From 24 works of this program, 15 songs are being published here
for the first time. The others are rare recordings of the works.
This disc gives credence to Utyosov as a true artist,
each performance of his being unique. The recording here of
"Marquise" was the best of three different variants, but was
lost. Recently, a collector sent us this disc. As we have learned,
the LP with the third variant of the song was released in 1939 by the All-Union
Radio Committee, but only in samples which became a rarity.
A number recordings made during the war-time era are included.
